Scot Nery has gone from street performer to performing on the road.The juggler/comedian is part of the Brooks & Dunn tour making a stop Sunday at Blossom Music Center.
As a kid doing banquets and birthday parties, Nery never thought juggling could become a profession.
After he did street performing for a while, the Northeast Ohio native, now based in Nashville, started tackling open-mike nights at comedy clubs.
"My whole thing is about taking risks," he says.
And Nery does not treat hecklers with disdain.
"From performing on the street, I depended upon people. I don't call them hecklers. I call them helpers."
Nery also chuckles at the fact that his big finale is flipping a single pancake. "For some reason, everybody's on the edge of their seats."
And juggling really isn't the top priority, says Nery, who entertains with other street performers before the concert. "It's never about the juggling. That's just an excuse for people to meet me."
And Nery has a definite goal.
"I want to become the most famous juggler in the world without doing any juggling."
